In the course of the expansion of renewable energies, the challenge of decentralized storage and intelligent control of solar energy arises. The energy produced by the photovoltaic system should still be available even when no sun is shining. This is the task of the SOL energy manager, a home power plant consisting of a combination of solar inverter, battery inverter, energy management system and lithium-ion battery. The goal of the SOL energy manager is to obtain as little power as possible from the grid and to maximize the share of self-consumed electricity. It is therefore designed for optimum cost-effectiveness for the end customer. The customer receives a compact system unit. Complex single installations are not necessary. The device is ready for use immediately after installation. A connection box integrated in the cabinet connects to the home network. Self-consumption control is taken over automatically by the system. The consumer does not have to manually adjust.
The SOL energy manager ensures that as little power as possible is removed from the network and the proportion of self-consumed electricity is optimized. This creates maximum profitability for the operator.

The solar technology for energy production is well developed and has now been tested millions of times. Now it is about dealing effectively with the generated solar power. So far, the excess income "simply" went into the public grid. Due to the legally guaranteed feed-in tariff, which was higher than the usual electricity tariff, this process remained economical for the plant operator. However, with the amendment to the Renewable Energy Law, this customer-friendly state of affairs has come to an end, and with the subsidy being reduced below the usual electricity tariff, the question of self-consumption becomes a return issue for any plant operator. But the change of the EEG also has a technical reason. For "simple" solar energy now generated in Germany (almost 4% of the electricity generated nationwide) could no longer "put off" in the public network. Overloads and in regions with particularly high levels of solar energy were inevitable.
Solutronic at the height of the time
By promoting self-consumption, the Federal Government had already set the course for decentralized storage and energy management for photovoltaic systems. Solutronic AG from Baden-Württemberg responded with the development of a complete system. The manufacturer, known for its highly efficient inverter and related power optimization systems, has brought together the proven application and state-of-the-art redevelopment of lithium-ion based energy storage systems for the new solution. The more effective and significantly longer lasting storage technology compared to lead-acid battery technology also means the conformity of the profitability cycle of the photovoltaic system and storage system in combination.
SOL-Energymanager – intelligent energy storage
With Solutronic's SOL Energymanger, the energy produced by the photovoltaic system is available even when no more electricity is generated from the sun. The small home power plant, consisting of the combination of PV inverter, battery inverter, energy management system and Li-ion battery ensures a shift of the power usage times according to the wishes of the operator.
The system is a compact unit. It is not applied in single steps, but as complete installations that are fully operational to a point. The connection via the existing home network is made via a meter box integrated in the cabinet. Self-consumption control is taken over fully automatically. Manual readjustments are not necessary. The equipment includes a 5.7-inch touch display, on which all information about the operating status of the supplied power and the state of charge of the battery can be read and all functions and components can be controlled in a user-friendly way.
Remote monitoring and control are even possible on the move. The power plant can also be easily controlled from the road via smartphone. For this, a separate software and applications are available, via which all data can be retrieved. Another option is the stand-alone operation in case of power failure.
SOL-Energymanger – economical and safe
Technical safety not only applies to the Solutronic device, but also to the PVA. Each built-in component was individually certified, tested and tested in cooperation. In any case, the inverters from Solutronic comply with the valid VDE standard. With the battery unit, maximum safety was achieved by galvanic isolation.
The SOL Energy Manager will increase the overall yield capacity of the plant. In times of ever-increasing electricity prices, grid-independent supply is becoming increasingly important. With the SOL Energymanger, the operator can not optimize the profits.
